Board of Directors and Shareholders have ended the traditional 51st Annual General Meeting of the Sierra Leone Brewery Limited at the Staff Canteen Hall, of the Brewery Wellington Industrial Area.

The 51st Annual General Meeting attracted shareholders and stakeholders of the company as they cautiously listen to the auditor and the Board of Chairman reports.

According to the Chairman’s address 2013 was very challenging by 4% from Le66.4 billion in 2012 to Le63.9 billion in 2013.


Washington, DC — Nigerian health authorities are in the process of tracing more than 30,000 people who could be at risk of contracting Ebola, after the virus surfaced in Lagos.

The authorities have confirmed that a Liberian man who died in Lagos last Friday tested positive for Ebola, Reuters reported.

After the discovery, the hospital that dealt with Nigeria's first known Ebola victim was closed.

Professor Sunday Omilabu, from Lagos University Teaching Hospital, told Reuters the health authorities are now tracing everyone who may have had contact with the victim.


Lagos State Government has warned the public to be wary of some pastors who claim to have cure for the dreaded Ebola virus.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Aderemi Ibirogba, specifically advised the citizenry to be wary of the activities of alleged fraudsters who were reportedly making spurious claims about their ability to provide cure for the deadly virus.

He called on those who wanted to rip off members of the public to desist from such claims of cure or risk arrest and prosecution.

Following on the visit by His Excellency the President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma to the epicenter of the Ebola outbreak, the Inspector General of Police, Francis A Munu has indicated that his force is being prepared and put in a state of readiness necessary for an elevation of the fight against Ebola virus in Sierra Leone. To this end, the Inspector General is now considering the elevation of the state of readiness of the force to include emergency provisions if that becomes the position taken by His Excellency the President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma.

Former Minister of the Sierra Leones People’s Party who also doubles as Chairman of the Technical Facilitation Team Emmanuel O. Grant has said that the impasse hovering the party over barrage of court sagas will only create a loss for the party.

He calls on supporters and sympathizers of the party to embrace the initiative of T.F.T to overhaul the divide and mount for glory in the coming elections, saying the party weapon for victory is unity.

Thousands of petty traders across the country have threatened the Koroma Administration by expressing their utmost dismay and disappointment on the All People’s Congress Party in showing no regards for traders in the country.

 They squarely accused the Freetown City Council and the Sierra Leone Police for grossly violating their rights as citizen of this country for the arbitrarily arrests in the name of street trading.

The traders also reminded President Koroma of his promise he made to traders in the country in his quests for re-election.

The dissatisfaction and discontentment amongst some APC party youth and senior Party Executives in the Eastern Region for the second appointment of Mr. Maya Kai-Kai from Board Chairman of SLRTA to Resident Minister East continues to send eccentric flavor and internal aggrandizement amongst party faithful.

The double-clicking of Maya Kai-Kai asked the question if the latter is the only good born Easterner or strong member of the party in that region.

car Pistorius in row at Johannesburg club

South African athlete and murder accused Oscar Pistorius was involved in an argument at a nightclub at the weekend, his spokesperson has said.

Mr Pistorius had an altercation with businessman Jared Mortimer who said he was drunk, The Star newspaper says.

Mr Pistorius' spokesperson said the argument took place after Mr Mortimer started to "aggressively interrogate" him about his murder trial.

Mr Pistorius denies murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.


The general public would recall that in 2012, the 2014 population and housing census was commissioned in Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leone People’s Party for a period in excess of one year has continuously monitored the process and in this regard we would want to update the nation on the existing status.

The Party recognizes that census data guides policy formulation, planning, resource allocation and boundary delimitation for both Parliamentary and Local Council elections. The next constituency and ward boundary delimitation will be carried out using the 2014 census data.
