Emmanuel Star Baptist Church Kenema donates 100 bags of Rice to Ebola Victims at the church’s building at 25 Jabba Street September 5th. Presenting the donation, Rev. Joseph Sam Forna said such is to compliment government’s strides in the fight against the Ebola outbreak. He revealed, however, that the donation came from their international partners, Baptist World Aid, an organization that seeks the welfare of the needy of society, which also want its presence felt by people of Sierra Leoneans as the country go through a chaotic moment of time. He said Emmanuel Star Baptist Church is one of the number of churches committed in the fight against Ebola in the country and in doing so, has not only donated rice to victims but set aside special prayer time, evoking God’s intervention in the elimination of the deadly Ebola virus. “We’re not only asking for God’s intervention, but ensure that victims of Ebola get a share of the donated rice, Anti- septic soaps, parcel of chlorine and other items to enable them feel belonging,” Rev. Joseph said. He pleaded with the victims to have faith and depend on God. That in collaboration with Baptist World Aid, the Emmanuel Star Baptist Church Sierra Leone will ensure that Ebola victims in Kenema receive the necessary assistant to make them feel loved. He informed members of the church that they are loved and cared for, and will forever be. He noted that the concerted effort of citizens is needed in the fight against the disease. Rev. Mohamed Mansaray who doubles as Secretary General of the Church said items donated have high qualities and will unavoidably help in the cure of affected victims. Giving her testimony, a cured Ebola victim, Nurse Edwin Koroma, told the congregation that Ebola is real and is a powerful virus that has potent inclination of killing any affected person. Receiving the gifts, Dauda Mohamed Fullah, shed tears as he testifies his odd deals, in particular, how he lost his father, Pa. Fullah, a former Lab Technician at the Kenema Government Hospital.
