KKY MOVEMENT FEEDS NJALA STUDENTS
The Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella (KKY) Movement has on behalf of Dr. Kandeh Yumkella presented food items worth millions of Leones to students of the Njala University at the auditorium hall in Mokondi campus, Njala, Bo District over the weekend.
In his presentation, National Coordinator of Students Wing FBC, Moses E.N. Sesay said the donation is part of Dr Yumkella‘s support towards the students in the ongoing Ebola fight in the country especially students residing in the campus from Kenema and Kailahun respectively.
The items include twenty bags of rice, ten gallons of cooking oil, one bag of sugar, cartons of tin tomatoes, bags of onions, bundles of plastic water, a bag of salt and cash of one million Leones.
He stressed that Njala is at the bottom of his heart and he always think of the university because the college made him what he is today.
The Coordinator of students called on his colleague students not to forget that the future of this nation lies in their hands and they should make the right choice when the time comes by choosing Dr Yumkella as their next president of this nation.
Chancellor of the Njala University, Professor Alhaji Abu Sesay gave a brief background of Dr. Yumkella and Professor Monty Jones recalling that they were in class and both of them were very respectful especially Yumkella.
“I am not even closer to his achievement in the world,” he said.
He thanked the KKY Movement for their timely donation adding that he has linked the university with an organization that will soon be providing 24 hours electricity supply to the people of Njala.
He emphasized that Njala is the home of Dr. Yumkella and further said that they have written so many letters to State House and donor agencies asking for help especially for those students who are currently residing at the campus and need help but they are not getting help from any nobody neither from the central government.
He noted that only KKY Movement came out to support these students which show that Kandeh is not only an Alma-Ata but a true son of this country and the world at large who wants to see the continuous growth of Sierra Leone.
He spoke about his role to develop young Sierra Leoneans to be transformed to meaningful citizens in society noting that the government has failed to support the university in many areas of concerns.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Felixtina Johnson said she met Dr. Yumkella in the year 1981 as a final year student who wanted to be elected as Students Union President of the university and all the students were very proud of Dr. Yumkella for his Love not only for the university but the people in particular and the country in general and advised the students to emulate him as well as to support him in his presidential ambition.
Regional Coordinator South for KKY Movement, said the SLPP has the best practice in party politics in the country and that the party always relies on solid foundation to develop and improve Sierra Leone.
National Organizing Secretary for KKY Movement , Kolleh Dumbuya congratulated Njala University for producing the best Sierra Leonean in the country like Dr. Yumkella. He informed the people that KKY Movement started in January 2013 and appealed to them for their continue support and work together to develop this country for the betterment of all.
