Lecturers Threaten Strike Action

Lecturers of Milton Margai College of Education have threatened strike action if their demands are not met.

The lecturers say they’ve gone without salary for months and the college administration has done nothing to remedy the situation.

“We are tired,” a group of irritated MMCET lectures told our reporter.

“The college administration has done little or nothing advocating on our behalf.”

The affected lecturers, a source said, intend rally to education ministry and state house to explain their plight to authorities concerned and to ask them speedily pay salaries owed them, or will unavoidably go on sit down strike at the reopening of college in October.

A lecturer who asked for his name not to be mentioned said lecturers at the Congo Cross campus have gone without salary for three months now; a situation they described as deplorable and absurd.
