Mr. and Mrs. Pratt, who are based in the United States of America, have donated consignments of food and non-food items to Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Saint Martin’s Parish Church at Blackhall Road in eastern Freetown.

According to the President of St. Vincent de Paul St Martin’s Conference, Raymond P. P. Sannoh, the donation was borne out of the womb of showing out appreciation and giving thanks to the Parish organization for wholeheartedly and remarkably participating during their answering to the sacrament of Holy matrimony, irrespective of not being biologically related, the couple felt fulfilled that Catholic church community has exhibited higher level of belongingness, care and concern for its brethren.

President Raymond Sannoh disclosed that the Society of St Vincent de Paul received the items through one of its life Patrons, Mr. Emmanuel T. Komba on behalf of the American based couple.

The items included two barrels of assorted food items and two bundles of used clothing.

As a charity organization in the Catholic Church whose mandate of operation is not only limited to the confines of the church but also extended to the surrounding church community, most of the items would be judiciously distributed among the poor and needy within and outside the church.

President Sannoh maintained that the timeliness of the arrival of the items in Ebola-stricken Sierra Leone has spoken volumes not only to the church community but also to the country as a whole.
