Parliament Applaud RMFA For Job Done

Sulaiman Bah

As Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) faced parliament to defend their budgets for 2014, the Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA) was before the Parliamentary Committee on Supply 1 chaired by the Chief Whip, Hon. Claude Kamanda, to answer to questions relating to its budget expenditure for the Fiscal Year 2014.

The chairman and committee members after probing into the finances of the RMFA and ascertaining some of the jobs done in the development of the road sector in the country, parliamentarians were left with no option but to commend the CEO of RMFA, Mr. Abdul Kaloko and his team.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Claude Kamanda, noted that RMFA for the past few years had demonstration quality, strength in helping Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) to actualize its dream in the road sector of the country, and also supporting local councils with billions of Leones to construct feeder roads around the provinces.

Each member of the committee noted some activities done by RMFA in improving the road infrastructure in the country.

Responding to committee members, CEO Abdul Kaloko appreciated Parliament for the commendation and noted that as an institution, they will continue to do their job in supporting SLRA and local councils to development the road sector in the country.

He however informed the committee about some of the challenges faced by the institution in raising funds for the road sector in the country.
