Social Welfare Perm Sec. Bags Meritorious Award
The dynamic and illustrious Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Joseph Teckman Kanu, has been the proud recipient of one of the most prestigious Awards from the Sports Commentators & Analysts Association for his immense contributions towards national development in various ways and promoting the human rights of vulnerable people. Head of the Association informed this press that after series of observations, tracking and assessment, they came to the realization and conclusion that the Permanent Secretary has really made tremendous contributions to the advancement of government‘s agenda, improving the welfare of majority of the citizenry and rendering various forms of support to different organizations that are trying to push development agencies. Receiving the ward, Joseph Teckman Kanu expressed delight for the coveted award and commended members of the Association for their kind gesture. He promised to continue the good work, underscoring that “we can only succeed in our development strides if we work collaboratively and collectively.” He added: “Indeed, I am comfortable working with the current Minister Moijueh Kaikai and his Deputy Mustapha Bai Attila for their dynamism and commitment to push the government’s agenda forward.” The Permanent Secretary added that he is indeed saddened that the Ebola outbreak has thwarted most of their activities.
