Sierra Mineral Holdings 1 Limited (Vimetco), a bauxite mining company in Moyamba, held several meetings with Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Mines in Freetown during first week of April 2019 regarding the company’s plan of expansion with the construction of a value-added alumina tri hydrate plant within its concession. Except production of Aluminium, alumina tri-hydrate is also widely used in refractory industry, ceramics industry, for water purification, serves as flame retardant filler and as polishing compound, etc.

The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Richard Moigbeh has taken Shakerndas into high esteem after it started and completed what he described as a wonderful police post constructed for the safety of the people of Wellington community.

No amount of negative and fictitious publicity will discouraged Socfin Agricultural Company from leaving the shores of Sierra Leone.

SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

There are certain unsubstantiated claims made by Joseph Rahall of the Green Scenery in his recent piece which need some clarifications for the benefit of the general public. Socfin has 12,500 hectares out of the 27, 000 hectares of Sahn Malen Chiefdom in Pujehun District. The company has only planted about 40% of the entire hectares that comprised Malen.
