The current poor status of the road leading to Sani Abacha Street, opposite the 

Clock Tower and the Eastern Police Station in Freetown leads to vehicles and Keke being trapped in the middle of the road due to the heavy down pour of rain.

Street flooding on Wednesday and the bad condition of the road led to some minute’s standstill for Keke rider Osman Kamara together with the three passengers on board.

Commercial motorbike riders at the Waterloo 55 Park have been banned by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) from plying the roads after 12 midnight effective past Monday 23rd July.

While the ban has come into effect, the Bike Riders Union in the Western Area Rural District (WARD) is busy constructing a three-storey building that will be used as their offices when the project concludes.

To prevent childhood disability and promote maternal health, the Hastings Polio Women and Girls Organization has embarked on massive sensitization with support from Handicapped International.
The Chairlady of the organization, Mariama Jalloh, disclosed that transportation challenge seriously affects them especially pregnant disable women and girls who she said are marginalized by commercial drivers due to their disabilities.
