Sierra Leoneans are not oblivious of the fact that the Ebola outbreak has really exposed the weak health system in the country despite Government and development partners have over the years made several efforts to improve the health sector especially with the introduction of the much vaunted Free Healthcare Initiative in April, 2010. The lack of health facilities and logistics to enhance efficient health service delivery were evidenced by the many constraints health workers had to face during the initial outbreak of the Ebola Viral Disease (EVD) in Kailahun District.
